At the turn of this year we first heard the lush sounds of Bristol-based Oliver Wilde, the songwriter impressing with a hugely pleasing singular soundscape.
His gorgeous debut album A Brief Introduction To Unnatural Lightyears got a release a couple of months back; now the following may sound cliched, but it’s an album that succeeds in really complimenting that summer vibe – the woozy lo-fi aesthetic perfect for soundtracking hazy, long sunny days. A delightful melancholy to get lost in, a warm introspection to be embraced by. We filmed a stripped-back acoustic session with Oliver on a scorching summer’s day in London of his track ‘Flutter’, where he produced a delicate performance for us.
‘Flutter’ is taken from A Brief Introduction To Unnatural Lightyears that is out now via Howling Owl Records. Go see him on the following UK dates:
- Aug 31 Arctangent Festival
- Sept 14 Southsea Festival
- Sept 28 Figure 8 Festival
- Oct 12 Simple Things Festival
- Oct 19 SWN Festival
- Oct 27 London, St Pancras Old Church
- Oct 30 Thekla, Bristol
You can watch the session below, or via our TV Section. It’s also available via our Youtube page (please watch in HD when possible).
