This week sees the re-release of the career catapulting Memoryhouse by highly-revered composer Max Richter – originally seeing the light of day back in 2002.
To coincide with this, Richter performed a special one-off show at the Barbican Centre with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by André de Ridder. We caught-up with the post-classical renaissance man on the day of this show, where he discussed going back to the album (“like meeting an old friend” he states), narratives and conversations in music, and what excites him today.
Memoryhouse is out now on heavyweight 180gm vinyl on FatCat. It’s limited, so don’t dilly-dally.
